headshot of Catherine by the waterCatherine has been teaching for fifteen years at Stratford Hall School in Vancouver. She delights in new ways of learning the foundations of biology: unique research questions for investigation, different lenses seen by modeling processes or deeper understandings of our connectedness revealed by current events. Catherine’s background is in mining land reclamation. Before teachers’ college, she worked for ten years on various research teams, as a mines inspector with the provincial government and as an advocate for sustainable resource use with non-profit organizations.

Catherine holds a BSc. in ecology, evolution and animal behaviour, an MSc. in restoration ecology and a BEd. in biology.
