As we head into the fall season, here are some fun

As we head into the fall season, here are some fun facts about fungi🍄‍🟫🍄🍂🌲

1 - Fungi have the ability to transform nutrients in a way that makes them available for plants. Some fungi are decomposers which mean that they break down plant and animal debris, cycling the nutrients into the ecosystem.

2 - Together, plants and fungi perform a process called soil carbon sequestration, capturing carbon from the atmosphere and storing it into the soil for decades if not hundreds of years. This important process improves soil fertility and it can also help reduce the carbon human activities have put into the atmosphere.

Keep your eyes open for the friendly forest recyclers and thank them for all that they do♻️🍄‍🟫🌟
