Research

Multiple benefits are possible in using Nature’s recipes, processes and systems.

With Nature as our source of inspiration, we rely on the deep study of the scientific community, indigenous knowledge and biomimicry thinking to guide our research resulting in a design concept.

Develop your own research practice. Stay tuned for 2025 workshop in Victoria Canada: Biomimicry Thinking: Innovation Inspired by Nature’s Chemistry.

Product Development

We help clients explore partnerships, access R&D tools and facilities, prototype and test the ideas that lead to solutions.

Fig #4. Crocodiles have bony plates called osteoderms that release alkaline ions to mitigate high levels of carbonic acid in their bloodstream when they hold their breath and hang out at the bottom of the mangrove. When the Croc surfaces and exhales the alkaline ions are re-absorbed by the osteoderms until the next deep dive. Who Cares? Commercial scale processing uses many toxic acids often without recycling the buffering agents due to cost and lack of innovation, could this 83.5 million year old strategy help?

Coaching, Facilitation and Training

Our approach identifies opportunities for tighter feedback loops, stronger culture, and better rhythm in the organizational calendar.

Using Nature’s deep design patterns as guiding principles, we help you amplify the capacity of your organization to define its niche and function like an ecosystem.
